GERALD TRANCKLE

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Gerald was born in Teignmouth, South Devon and has over thirty eight years of experience in Building,Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

He spent the first few years of his working career in Mechanical Engineering where he gained experience in research and development, metals technology and other associated areas.

He has always had a deep interest in Construction and after his time in Mechanical Engineering he joined Cementation Construction.  With Cementation Construction he was employed on the Exeter M5 contract, the Drewsteignton By-pass and the M25 at Sevenoaks in Kent.  His responsibilities included Assistant Planning Engineer, Site Engineer Roads and Bridges and Sub-Agent Structures.  He then spent two years in Saudi Arabia as Chief Land Surveyor and Agent.

On his return to the UK he joined Mowlem (E Thomas Ltd) and enjoyed ten years with them on a variety of projects including Piling, Marine Mechanical Installation, Sewerage Schemes, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Buildings – residential, commercial and industrial – in roles ranging from Senior Engineer to Contracts Manager.

In 1988 he decided to go into business on his own and so Hannon Young Ltd was founded.

 

DAVE DAVIES

BUILDING DIRECTOR

Dave was born in Teignmouth, South Devon and has over twenty years of experience in the Construction Industry.

In the early part of his career he worked for a National Builders merchants gaining extensive knowledge in building materials.  He then trained as a Quantity Surveyor for a local authority, this gave him a considerable amount of experience in public sector projects including housing maintenance, public building repairs as well as new build projects.

Dave has been with Hannon Young Ltd for 11 years as a Projects Surveyor then as Surveying Manager working on public and private sector projects.

In 2009 he has now taken up the position of Building Director.

 

PAUL COATES

CONTRACTS MANAGER

Paul has over twenty five years experience in the Construction Industry.

Starting as a Site Engineer with E Thomas he progressed to Sub Agent before joining Hannon Young Ltd in 1988.

He has been with the Company since the outset and has been involved in all aspects of Management from Site Supervision and Engineering to Estimating and Quantity Surveying.

Paul has the responsibility for overseeing main contracts from Sewerage Treatment Works to Cliff Stabilisation.

Paul has overall control of the highly active Minor Works and Civils Departments which also undertake minor contracts and also provides emergency and general cover for many of the Local Authorities.

 

ANDY STEVENS

FINANCE/ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

& COMPANY SECRETARY

Andy has over thirty years of experience in all aspects of Building and Civil Engineering. 

In the early part of his career he worked with a multinational contractor as a Graduate Engineer on major refurbishment schemes in The Midlands.  He was promoted to Regional Surveyor and moved to Exeter.

He was recruited by Mowlems as Quantity Surveyor on a £6 million Power Station in Devonport Dockyards, Plymouth.  He also gained much experience in all levels of management on Motorways, Marine Works, Sewage Schemes, Structures and Building Works.

He joined Hannon Young Ltd in 1989 and was appointed Director the following year.

In 2009 Andy has taken on the role as Finance/Administration Manager.
